TIGERBELLE featured for Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is profiling influential Black figures throughout history and has included a feature on Olympic Gold Medalist and record-breaking sprinter Wyomia Tyus, author of Tigerbelle: The Wyomia Tyus Story (cowritten with Elizabeth Terzakis on our Edge of Sports imprint). Writer Bria Felicien spoke with Tyus to inform her piece, and the AJC also created an original video to highlight Tyus’s life and accomplishments, which can be seen here.

If you haven’t yet picked up a copy of Tigerbelle, this inspiring read tells the story of the Hidden Figures of sports, and tells Tyus’s life story in her own words. The New York Times Book Review said: “Tyus proves as winning a storyteller as she was a runner . . . The ‘a’ in Wyomia is silent, but thankfully, the woman who owns that name is not.”

You can purchase copies of Tigerbelle: The Wyomia Tyus Story in both paperback and hardcover editions directly through our website here, or wherever you buy your books.
