Mike Watt
MIKE WATT, born in Virginia in 1957, is the son of a sailor. His family moved to San Pedro, California, when he was eight, and four years later he met D. Boon, whose mother introduced Watt to the bass guitar. D. Boon and Watt started the punk band the Minutemen in 1980, and they played many shows until D. Boon passed away in 1985. Watt would go on to write/record three punk operas, and he played bass with Iggy Pop and the Stooges for 126 months. For the past thirty years, Watt has played in fIREHOSE and other musical outfits and collaborations. He still lives in San Pedro. HIs latest work is Tuff Gnarl, Part 2.
