Bronx Biannual began in the summer of 2006, a literary journal edited by Miles Marshall Lewis dedicated to publishing urbane urban literature. The premiere edition published fiction and essays from some of the finest writers of the hip-hop generation, including Greg Tate, KRS-One, Donnell Alexander, and many new talents. Each Bronx Biannual will be decidedly different from its predecessors in terms of editorial focus and design. Issue 2 features wild, strict, and pretty writing from authors Kenji Jasper, Zadie Smith, Carol Taylor, Michael A. Gonzales, and more new voices.

Miles Marshall Lewis was born in the Bronx in 1970 and currently splits his time between New York City and Paris, France. He is the author of Scars of the Soul Are Why Kids Wear Bandages When They Don't Have Bruises (Akashic, 2004), and There's a Riot Goin' On (Continuum, 2006) and is a former editor of Vibe and XXL. His work has been published in The Believer Book of Writers Talking to Writers, LA Weekly, the Village Voice, Rolling Stone, Essence, and other publications.
