--Thurs., Feb. 16, 7:00pm--WASHINGTON, DC, Folger Shakespeare Library, in conjunction with the PEN/Faulkner Foundation, will host the exhibition "Shakespeare's Sisters: Voices of English and European Women Writers 1500-1700." As part of the exhibition, a select group of contemporary writers have been invited to submit an original essay related to the exhibition. The resulting chapbook, "Shakespeare's Sisters: Women Writers Bridge Five Centuries," will be available in February, edited by Gigi Bradford and Louisa Newlin with original work by Eavan Boland, Jane Hirshfield, Rita Dove, Linda Gregerson, Jane Smiley, Rosanna Warren, Maxine Kumin, Elizabeth Nunez, Linda Pastan, Heather McHugh, Jacqueline Osherow, Elizabeth Alexander, and Marie Howe. The exhibition will open on February 2, 2012, attendance by invitation only. However, readings from the chapbook will take place on February 16. Attendance is free, but reservations are required.
